Why Torksey is the most idyllic location to visit!

In the West Lindsey District of Lincolnshire nests a small village called Torksey, noted historically as a major Viking camp and the site of a Roman canal, dating back to the early 2nd century.

An entry from the Anglo–Saxon Chronicle states, in the winter of AD 872 a Viking army made camp at Torksey during the war. Interestingly, archaeological finds suggest that the Vikings used the settlement as a possible form of ‘beach market’ beside the river.

Apart from the wealth of historical influence with its Roman and Saxon links, Torksey is jam-packed with attractions for all ages.
